NEW Music Director!

Michael Paul Gibson has been appointed new Music Director and Conductor of the Foothill Orchestra. With his interesting and varied background, Maestro Gibson comes highly recommended. Last year Michael was Music Director of the De Anza Symphony. Gibson is also Music Director of the Bay Area Little Symphony, and the Foothills Chancel Choir. Maestro Gibson has had master classes with Georg Solti and Carlo Maria Giulini working with the Chicago Symphony. He played trombone in the Denver Symphony, Air Force Academy Band, Bohemian Club Orchestra, and the San Francisco 49ers Band. He studied choral conducting with Margaret Hillis (Chicago Symphony Chorus) at Northwestern University from which he holds Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting degrees. He also offers expertise in business, operating his own company, BACH to Music (Bay Area Computer Help).

Watch Us GROW!

The Foothill Orchestra is new this year at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. Under the direction of its new Music Director, Michael Paul Gibson, the group will grow to a full-size orchestra of 70 to 80 players. The quality of performance will make everyone proud and well worth the price of a ticket. The repertoire will be varied and interesting enough to please the musicians and audience alike.

Join the Orchestra

We are now seeking excellent instrumentalists in all sections: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. The orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7 - 10 PM in the rehearsal hall (next to the theater) at Foothill College. Sectional rehearsals will be Friday evenings from 7 - 10 in the same place. This is a fine opportunity for fine musicians.
